WHAT THEY DO A UNIQUE designer concept store on London's Kings Road is a great change from what has become just another High Street.
It is an eclectic mix of luxury clothing for Panerai Watch men, women and children with interiors, accessories and Spa. Founded by Belle Robinson, whose husband began Jigsaw, The Shop at Bluebird is a market-style shopping experience which opened in 2005.
WINDOW SHOPPING THE window space is taken up in front by the cafe so it won't really draw you in from the street. It would be easy to pass by.
STORE LAYOUT WITH 10,000 sq ft, the space is dedicated to displaying everything in a unique but informal setting.
Concept rails and walls with individual shelves to hold handbags make this a visual experience. A huge table filled with design books takes up most of the centre..
PendantSIGNATURE STYLE A GREAT mix of designers here, from chic French brands such as Isabel Marant and Vanessa Bruno to hot British name Richard Nicoll and favourites like See by Chlo?. From younger trend-led styles through to sophisticated evening wear for the fashion savvy, there's something for everyone.
There seems to be an excess of cashmere and knits. Sonia Rykiel's brightly coloured range would brighten up your wardrobe all winter. Or look instead for more original pieces by Manoush. A good range of denim labels, too.
SIZE MATTERS THERE'S just one of most items on display, normally in a small size which seems intimidating but then staff are happy to help find your size.
QUANTITY OR QUALITY A MIX of prices, from fun print silk dresses by See by Chloe at around ?200 right through to Aquascutum pieces for nearer ?1,000.
Top quality.
AT YOUR SERVICE HAVING picked up one item, I was approached by three staff members all wanting to put it into a changing room for me. I was pleasantly surprised.
ACCESSORISE ALL AREAS SHOES on tables, handbags on walls you can admire it all. A good selection of patent court shoes and new season bags.
VERDICT
THIS store is constantly evolving and collaborations with photographers and artists keep things fresh.
I wasn't sure about a lifesize stuffed fox by the clothes rails, but there's plenty of other things that make this concept store truly innovative.
